Oh lord its been THAT kind of day.

Yesterday it was an old man, 80s easy. Comes in with some PVC fittings and some popcorn. Slaps it on my table. Asks me for a stick of 1 3/4 inch pvc pipe. I look in the computer and we are out. So he starts shouting about us being out. Why are we out ( we are out of all pVC pipe mind you and so is lowes customers have told me… Why pvc?? WTF haha) anyway, he shoves the fittings off my counter and stomps out the building shouting i didnt fight in Vietnam for you to be out of 1 3/4 inch PVC pipe! Im like .... What… the....actual....fuck! Then hes out the door and im laughing. Of course i tell everyone. My co/closer laughed my manager just stared at me like are you kidding me. She wasnt as humorous. I told her i had to be. But she was having a hard day fixing my big mistake.

So my mistake… I had a customer come in and insist we have this cattle shoot that was around 5K. My computer said no, but i pulled up photos and our website and our book and he insisted THAT was what it was in the yard and he needed it. Mind you this took like 30 minutes of dealing with him and his woman ( mom or girlfriend i couldent tell....) I do NOT remember calling to my yard guys and asking to confirmation. But despite the computer saying none on hand. I sold it to him. And a few other higher ticket items. I then had to run his same credit card 3 times on the transaction because he had a transaction limit on what he could spend in one swipe. So it took three swipes… So very memorable. I called to the yard for the load out and they loaded it up.

Turns out. We did NOT have that product. We had NO fucking clue what this man grabbed from the yard. Yard must have loaded whatever he pointed at. Ok so if this was a small item it would have been ok we took a hit ( or a gain) but we didnt know WHAT he grabbed.. So he was called. Turns out he was over charged by 1500. Which means he had to come back and be refunded the 1500 so the computer could be fixed. I technically didnt LOOSE the company any money. However if he had gotten a more expensive item, then i would have lost the company money and i was very much expecting to be fired yesterday. I wasnt. My boss reviewed the video tapes and saw how the man was handling me about it and said i didnt do anything wrong technically besides not calling a manager. So from now on im to call a manager to handle high ticket sales. They said he basically swindled me, Except he got a lower priced item then the one he was trying to buy lol. But in their opinion he was TRYING to get a more expensive one and just happened to get a cheaper one and when they called to find out what he got was when they realized they had to refund.

Im not infallible at work. Im not perfect. Mistakes happen.

My baby parrots are dancing on their perch and want attention haha so ill leave you with a photo of them before i go pull them down.

Ahh the joys of retail.
Birds look happy! Great pic of them together!

They are happy. Siren is still bitey and calypso is still flighty.
We see the fight or flight instinct in these two. Siren fights, Calypso flights lol. Anything happens. Siren bites you, Calypso runs. Its really iteresting to see both sides play out in same age birds. Siren is for sure female. DNA says calypso is female but head shape beak and personality say male... We are erring on the side of dna but would NOT be surprised in 2 years of calypso pops a ring ( males do females do not) or maybe ill pay for another dna test and not tell the hubby haha.

What % is the accuracy of the kit? Interesting if it would be wrong.

Im not entirely sure. People did tell me that calypso/kraken looks very male. So im not entirely sure. Ill have to search it up. Im not sure which lab they used.
