Sometimes i feel fickle,. Like i do things for a few years then move on. But im moving on. Ive found homes for almost ALL of my bunnies inside a week. Im excited. Im planning on keeping four. Just four buns. Ive found homes even for some of my precious magpie and harli. I dont want to cull or anything so homing them is the best thing i can do. I know its like wow. this has been a huge part of my life for the last few years. But the reality is, i hurt, i feel like shit. I dont have the energy to clean the barn which takes a couple of hours. Even grooming is overwhelming. Obviously the moms with little babies cant leave just now. So ill have babies to home in a few weeks too. But babies can be easier to sell. I just have to find the good selling price point for them.

But that brings me to the new journey. Now im not quitting work as much as i would like to. I am going to wait and see what the job offer coming really details. When the actual manager speaks to me and not just the assistant manager you know. Hell if it dosent get offered to me, then i have no reason to hang out. Im still not feeling really well despite taking yesterday off and today to be lazy. Tomorrow is bunny drop offs and dr appointments. So ill rest in the afternoon and hope ill be up to par. But im also going to back up if i can make myself. i push a lot to get things done. So if i back off and settle down and do my best to do less lol. Maybe i wont feel so burned out.

After 6 months im still exhausted every day. It sucks

Anyway so we did a thing. Ive been wanting to buy a parrot since i was a teen and i lost mine. I wanted something smaller like what i had which was a quaker parrot. So i bought a baby ringneck parrot. Its 16 inches head to tail. And the males get a dark ring around their neck between 1 and 2 years old. So its sex linked to color. But not till that ring comes in haha. So we decided we are going to send off for genetic testing to see if we can get its gender. That way we can name it something that fits. I dont want its name princess and it turns into a boy lol. After a year, renaming something is hard!

Its being hand fed and will be ready in a couple of weeks. Ive got a cage picked out and i plan on spending my after work time sitting and chatting with it. Learning words. Im excited. I picked out some cool toys and a flight training leash for him. Ive been researching all the foods it can eat and getting ready. Its been almost 20 years. BUT i do remember a lot of what we did. My bird was bonded to me. Im hoping this one will too. I wanted something like the cats that i can relax with and not have to “go do ” much. Paper changing is much easier then cleaning a barn lol.

Plus they dont eat nearly as much as the buns do. Ill be saving money with much less feed. I currently have 3 bags of feed and im hoping once i get down to 4, their costs and care will settle down quite a bit. Like i KNOW i need to shave two. And the longer i wait, the more likely the coat is to get ruined. So maybe tomorrow ill get some shaved.

That and I open next week, If i have days where im energetic i can do the bunnies after work too, sometimes around 4 im pretty perky haha.

ok im out!

You can always give it a gender neutral name! One of my dogs is Almond, I mean, that could go either way! But it will still be fun to find out the gender :)

Parrots freak me out! They are so smart and can talk which is so weird to me, and I have had a few try to bite me. Those were African Grays though.

We get wild parrots here, the green ones. We will get dozens at a time that perch in my trees and eat the camphor laurel berries. They are SO LOUD.

The rose ring parrot is on the list, which is a cousin to what i bought haha. I think its cool that they are wild too!! This guy will be 16 inches fully grown. And their beak can pinch and draw blood but not really break anything. Think cockatiel size. Maybe a few inches longer in the tail.

We have a sun conure. Skittles . She is so loud :-( . She was my nephews but he could not take the noise . We keep her in the LR with us . Sadly I have not been able to keep her out of the cage much because I need to get her wings clipped. She is sooo smart but she does not say much . At least she does not bite like my three parakeets . They are piranhas.

awww i love sun conures too. They are adorable!!
I have all these learning toys for them haha. Lots for them to do to keep from being destructive.

Sorry to see the bunnies go, but maybe it'll help to not have such demanding home tasks on top of work.

Ill still have a couple, Just going to do my best on keeping on a few instead of so many.
