The new babies in Tales from a Rabbit Breeder

Kids brought in a litter of babies and i didnt feel the thrill or joy of new babies at all. I just feel… such a stressful hassle. So much work. For so little return. Even shaving them is so much more work then i have in me right now. This flare is lasting a long time but im just not getting there.
However i have two stunning colors in this litter and 4 white. They are Frostbite x Kaji. Im guessing by the lack of harli, that Kaji dosent carry for it. But Someone clearly carries for tort and fawn ( agouti) I mean two years ago those colors would have had me SO excited. And now i just dont feel it.
In any event i figured ill share some photos. There are two other litters still. More whites and 5 chestnuts and 2 more fawns. So of 17 babies, there are 4 fawns, 1 tort, 5 chestnut and 7 rew.

look at that deep fawn. Almost red toned. Beautiful.

maybe i can sell most of my rabbitry to someone who really wants angoras.... Maybe with some wool rights or something. Who knows. 4 have homes, 1 may have a home…

When I meet God, I want it explained to me these animals that have a litter of 8 but only 2 are probable to survive long enough to reproduce. Couldn't we have just lowered the brutality content on Planet Earth by lowering populations of all things and reduce the need for hunger and suffering? What about reptiles and fish and such: hundreds of eggs to get a pair old enough to reproduce. Do sharks like soft-cell-sea-turtle? Is it decadent like veal?

WIth turtles for sure. Its hard to imagine how they die in such quantities. Its sad.
With my buns, i made the agreement with my husband that i would be the sole care provider. I pay for them, i buy all their food, i clean the barn on my own. But im managing the autoimmine disease world now and its really hard to keep up.
I wont let my babies suffer at all. Im working hard at finding quality homes for them. I ended up with far more babies right now then i can care for healthily. So im finding good homes for them.

It’s good that you are finding good homes for them. They are so adorable I do not know how rabbit people could resist . I know I could not if I was close :-)
