26st in Hey, buddy, got a light?

I want our old house back. The one my dad is basically “living” in even though my mom’s paying at least two things at that house still. As far as I can tell she has no immediate plans to force him out and will be carrying that house until he seriously welches on paying something over there; paying what, I don’t know.
He goes to thrift stores, buys their shit, and turns around and thinks he’ll sell it for gold prices.
It’s a fun hobby if nothing else, a fun hobby for someone who already has money, not someone trying to make it their sole income.
The only “concessions” I can make are that he actually got a fuckton of Jisney VHS’s in their big plastic cases. Everything else is some amazingly niche thing he thinks is going to sell for big bucks. “Y-Y-YYOU SEE THIS RIGHT HERE? USERS MANUAL FOR A 1984 VOLKSWAGEN QUANTUM? SOMEONE’LL BUY THAT, YEP.”
It was a pilots manual actually but who the fuck is perusing craigslist going “Ah man..nuts, if only there was a pilots manual..”
I’m not sold on it at all, but he’s too far gone (addicted) to see or hear otherwise.
I sort of wish I could be like my brother about this shit; my brother has basically said “Unless you have an apology ready for me, I don’t want to see you, talk to you, or have you at my house.”
It’s a nice house that smells like meth, and if you’ve smelled that shit before you know it’s not pleasant. Last time my mom was over there she bombed the house with some air freshener and that just made it worse. Living with a tweeker isn’t fun, either, ok.
You want to sleep because it’s 4 am? They’re wide awake and cleaning or just cackling at tv.
That happened a month ago or so and I just went out into the living room, shook my head and said “why don’t you go back outside where you’re ‘not bothering anyone’.”
He got a thoughtful look on his face for a second before telling me “It’s my house, thank you, good bye.”
I don’t want to hate my dad but I do want him out of that house so I CAN GO BACK HOME.
This little bitty living space at grandma’s is NOT the business. I love my grandma but honestly it suuuuuuuucks here.
As I said earlier, like up there, mom has no inclinations to force him out of that house anytime soon, maybe not even if she actually goes to Oz to live with my sister when she retires. Why she wants to pay for him to live there and shit it up, I don’t know, I tried getting an answer about that before and it just turned into “Well what are you doing, are you x y z?”
So I know it’s basically just my mom clinging onto this “Be the bigger person” mantra and just figuring if her estranged dopefiend husband is out of sight, he’s out of mind.
Just showing up in bill form.
