Mom had the tracheostomy surgery today. After talking with Dad and her on the phone I think it is affecting me more than her. Dad said she is doing better, looks better, and was making faces. She even went ahead and pulled her own feeding tube out. I actually just got a text from my father saying she got pissed at the nurse because she wants a Diet Coke and she still can’t have one. She needs to work with the therapist to learn to talk and eat. Hopefully this is a good sign for her to fight more and come home soon.
I talked with Cameron’s guidance counselor at the school this morning and explained the situation. She said she was had personal experience with her mother and wanted to do what she could to help. She said she wouldn’t have his schedule ready today, but would have it in a couple of days. Surprisingly she called me back just a bit ago and said his schedule is ready for him to go back to school tomorrow. I’m not exactly ready to send him back to school, but I don’t have any other choice. My employer is on my ass to go back to work. They were going to give me this week and then next week everyone must return to the office. While I work from home I have to write down what I’m doing throughout the day, and that’s getting pretty obnoxious, honestly. There’s so much I can barely keep my thoughts straight. Maybe going into the office and getting Cam back to school will develop some sort of normalcy.
