average in poetry

there are days I try to be
bukowski
but with less misogyny
there are days I try to be
ginsberg
but with a little bit less sodomy
and there are the days
I try to be twain
but with a little more hope
and the days
I try to be thompson
but with a lot less dope
sometimes I try to be phil dick
with a lot less delusion
and after a couple of months
I start to see
that all my influences
average out into
something like me
and it's actually nice
