Aragorn. in Whey and Sonic Screwdrivers.

I love when I come across video essays that make me think and feel. For a long time, my three male heroes have been Spock, the Fonz, and Weird Al. My stock line has been that they reflect aspects of my personality.

The video speaks for itself. Aragorn is a fully realized human, not bound by what men are “supposed” to be. I’ve seen LotR dozens of times, and it never occurred to me in such a way. He leads not because he aspires to be king, but because he needs to.

One does not simply aspire to be Gandolf. But I can definitely admire Aragorn as a role model.
