Adderall Day 1 in Mental Health

It’s been about 5 hours since my first dose of 20mg Adderall XR.

I am feeling pretty calm and have been able to take care of several phone calls that I’ve been putting off (forgetting) for several days. I’ve made appointments that have needed making for weeks or months.

Making appointments is hard for me. Using the phone is hard for me. Making phone calls makes me anxious. I hate even ordering pizza on the phone and order online whenever possible. Making multiple calls in one day? Holy moly. But I did it and I didn’t feel any anxiety about any of it.

Keeping a close eye on myself and my mental state. Adderall can trigger mixed/manic episodes in bipolar people, so I have to monitor carefully. If I’m going to have a bipolar episode, mania is generally preferred because of the burst of energy. Mixed episodes, not so much. Those are the really ugly ones when all the baddest of bad thoughts come.

Going to try to keep up on this. If the Adderall works, it shouldn’t be difficult to remember to document the effects.

I take adderall too! I need it to function, works very well -- I also find that it helps me get over anxiety about making calls/appointment (funny you experience that too!) BUT, it made me really constipated when I first started taking it, so drink your water and eat loads of fibre!

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind!
