grow grow grow your boat
trees become canoes
dare to dream
dare to dream
dare to dream
dare to dream
we become things too

even if sometimes
we must spoon into
our living parts
to do it

scoop out our guts
carve out new spaces
inside of ourselves
so we can end up ships
not end up just shelves

we can all be
dug-outs
floating on the river
we can keep
arrows in the quiver
we can keep an aim
that's as true as it is steady
we can grow until
we're ready

dare to dream
