I’m really enjoying the social aspect of writing more regularly. It’s kind of an extra layer to see my comments and talk on there, in addition to all the reading and commenting I normally do of everyone else. It’s sort of like positive reinforcement to keep writing, so I appreciate when someone is interested enough to comment!
We had a tropical storm today- didn’t seem as bad as they projected. My deck furniture didn’t move at all, which is usually how I judge how bad it is, and I lost power for about an hour on Wed night but nothing last night or today. I had work to do today so it’s def a good thing but I think I’d be more excited about the power out during the day since I was scared last time.
Which brings me to ghosty things. So, prior to Chris’ house ghost (which I’ll get into in a minute) I have always been open to the idea of ghosts but not really sold. Healthy skepticism. But, I had one experience when I lived in a century home in Ocean Grove, NJ where the light came on in the basement and I assumed someone left it on (even though I had totally taken a shower about an hour before and the light was NOT on because there was a window in the bathroom), but when I went to turn it off, the light was already off. I was SUPER freaked out, but I called the landlord the next day. I assumed he had been in the basement, or he had sent our handyman over. BUT NO. He hadn’t. Nobody was in the basement. My roommate always complained that there was a ghost in her room and one time she called the cops because she heard someone crying and no one was there BUT she had severe bipolar disorder so I never really believed her. I was pretty convinced that my own experience meant something, but I remained skeptical.
So, Chris once casually mentioned that Kayla saw a figure in the house before. It was in the middle of the night, she said it was sort of standing at the fridge door/behind the fridge door. We both kinda laughed and were like okay… it was the middle of the night, it’s dark, she prob just made it up in her mind.
A few weeks ago I was at his house. On Wednesdays I go there to work, spend the morning with him, he goes to sleep, and I read, respond to work emails, sometimes take a nap. I was in the kitchen getting things out of the cabinet to take back to my house and I turned around and saw a figure walk by the door. Earlier in the day, someone had come in (I found out later it was his mom and son, who came in and left) but I knew they had gone. The figure was tall, but also curious was that Moose (my dog) was standing right next to it and didn’t really react. So, I’m thinking, it’s Chris, but why didn’t Moose look at him? So, I start to feel funny about it, and even as I went in the room to see if Chris was still sleeping… I knew he was gonna be! The figure was more of a shadow type thing, but there was slight color, like I interpreted that it could have been Chris shirtless. It seemed like it came from his room, and went down the hallway, but of course I looked in the bathroom and bedroom and no one was there. I totally WASNT freaked out though, which was weird, whatever it was, it didn’t unsettle me.
I left (I always leave before chris wakes up) and texted him and told him to call me to talk about both incidents. He said “I wonder if the ghost came out because someone had come in earlier and maybe it thought we needed protection” but anyway we felt bad for making fun of Kayla and we both think it’s a real thing now. He texted me later “my boo saw my -ghost emoji” lol
This past weekend, his door shut a few times, which I was a little weirded out about, but he decided it was because my bag was behind it. I still don’t understand why suddenly the door would shut just because of my bag being behind it, but he blamed it on a push of air from the ac. Whatever. I got in the shower on Sunday night, and when I got out, Chris was like um.. I thought I saw you walk by the door. But, you couldn’t. You were in the shower. He saw a figure move across the hallway while he was outside, saw it through the glass door. So he gets in the shower, now i’m a little spooked. He leaves the door open so I’m not so spooked, but I left stuff in the dryer, and as I’m taking the clothes out of the dryer, I hear a footstep behind me PRETTY LOUD and I turned around and no one is there, and now I’m cold and goosebumpy all over.
That’s all that’s happened so far but I definitely think there is some presence there.
Do you believe? Do you have your own ghost stories? My coworker who is sensitive to seeing spirits has always told me she thought I was pretty susceptible too despite not having many experiences.

Well given that the CIA dropped documents that we should be prepared to meet non corporeal entities, while also stating that it's energy forces (spirits, in essence), which are all entwined with one another inside an Absolute energy source, that are controlling the physical states around us, then I would say that yes, spiritual forces exist around us that can manifest.
