The problem of working from home... in My life....I can't make this shit up!

The biggest problem I find working from home is finding the motivation to actually do my job. If it takes effort and brain power I struggle. Calling clients and having mindless conversation doesn’t bother me, but when it comes to actually doing something…anything…I just don’t have it. Completing assessments and service plans, calling referrals, dealing with certain case managers, running reports and extracting specific data....ugh. When I in the office I don’t have this much of a problem. I’ve started trying to work from the dining room table, but I can only do that so long before my back starts killing me and I end up on the couch again. Like right now, I’m lounging on the couch, half ass working, watching the news and wanting to go back to sleep. Even if I turn the TV off it’s not going to help because I’ll pick up on my phone and start playing a game. Or I’ll get up to make breakfast.
I always get my job done, but finding the motivation to do it sucks.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m very grateful to be able to work from home! I hate that Brian has to go to work every day and risk his (and our) health. But he can’t exactly fix and sell glasses from home! His employer do everything they can by limiting patients into the office, not allowing anyone but the patient in (except in cases of minors). Even if someone is having eye surgery, the person with them must stay in the car or can sit in the corridor of the medical building. He also has to wear a mask and a face shield. He and his coworkers doing everything necessary to clean all surfaces after each patient, etc. It’s still nerve wracking.
In May I started going back to the office every day and I was productive and organized. I was even able to help several of our clients who could not access their case managers because they didn’t have phones or were homeless.
Then the numbers started to rise. I told my boss I wasn’t comfortable hanging around the office because the support staff were walking around without masks, they were not taking temperatures of clients coming into the office for their injections, and not making clients wear masks. So, I packed all my crap and returned to working from home. I know Cam enjoys it because he’s liking staying up late at night and waking up late in the morning.
Oh well, I guess I should actually become productive....Maybe coffee will help!
