Anyone who has experienced Depression knows there is physical pain that comes with that. Anyone who experiences chronic pain knows there is depression in that. They are two little buddies that hold hands and run around the playground together. Which also means that it can be difficult to understand which is causing which. Normally. Right now, though? I had a really bad pain flare up today. Like… “even though I’m working from home, I called in sick today” flare up. And that is almost certainly a pain related to depression. And here’s the thing. Iowa’s cases are still going up in COVID. We are still seeing an increase in cases. So I am very aware and “happy” to stay the course on all of this. But yeah. I miss my family. I miss my friends. I miss… going to the bank. And while people are feeling down… that kind of thing connects and reinforces physical pain. And that sucks.

Ugh, that sucks honey!! Hope you feel better soon!! I have days like that, too. :(

Totally get it... and I relate to missing going to the bank. Just little things that made life feel normal, and the chance to escape for a little while.

Yessss. my therapist gave me a statement that I have adopted as my pandemic motto .. and I'm going to lay it on you! 'Survive not thrive'. My depression /anxiety is running crazy circles on me at the moment, so I get it... I miss my friends/family. And the daily friendly interactions with folks tooooooooo.

For people with depression loneliness and other mental issues, survival is the name of the game now. Just get through it. And yes, that's enough.
