I work with kids and I find they are constantly reminding me of how uptight us adults can be! It really doesn't make sense... Here we are encouraging children to explore, be creative and think outside the box, but meanwhile we get all caught up with 'the right way to do things' and all these rules and stuff!

Today my coworker and I set up some Moon Dough with pretty seashells on a baking tray for our playgroup kids. Well, it made me smile to see a group of little boys had brought cars over to the Moon Dough, taken out the shells and made the tray of Moon Dough into 'dirt' for the cars to drive around in. I thought what was absolutely awesome! One of the parents felt she had to notify us staff that this one kid had brought the playdough into the play kitchen to make muffins out of it. Our response? Who cares! Well, we didn't say it like that but really, it's all good as long as it's not hurting anyone- they are using their imagination! Of course it's another story if they decide to take sand out of the sensory bin or take a paint brush/ paint pod to another station-because those are huge messes to clean :)

All that to say- we should learn to be more like kids and not be so uptight all the time! Life can become so mundane, with our rigid routines and "adult rules"... I say we all start 'letting loose' and think outside the box more :) enter image description here Heehee love that :)

So today is day 2 of my "100 Days of Happiness Challenge"! Today I am grateful for the sun, it makes me smile! enter image description here What are you happy about today?
