Is everything looking up because it's almost spring, or because my meds are kicking in? I think it's a little bit of both!
I'm doing this "40 bags in 40 days" project. You can google it. Some people, like me, are doing it for Lent, but you don't have to be a Christian to try it out. The basic idea is to rid your home of the clutter, one bag at a time, for 40 days.
I offered it up to the kids, saying they could help me with it, or perhaps they'd like to give up candy and tv? Ha! I cleaned out a small desk that was jammed with crapola. I found a $100 savings bond! It was mangled, but I think it's worth some cash, not $100 yet, but who knows? I also found some thumb drives, earrings, and tossed a ton of papers.
My workplace is so slow, that I brought a bag of stuff in with me to sort today. Bad isn't it? I'm basically an office babysitter after I get my work done. There's so many crafty things, books and clothes. I also want to clean out my pantry and that hodgepodge of pots and pans.
I'm also cleaning out the books. Many of you know I sell used books on line to book buyers (Amazon/eBay buyers can make me crazy). I try to do $20-$25 worth of sales a day. Today, I hit $36.02 and I'm going to do a taste test this afternoon that will pay me in a $25 gift card. Yes, little things, but it helps me pay the electric bill!
I was feeling guilty about CC and her love of Underarmour hoodies. Is this trend just local? Because it seems like every middle school kid wants this logo. She has a hand-me-down hoodie and loves it. Yesterday, I went to Salvation Army and bought her three Under Armour t-shirts for a total of $7.50. They retail for $19-$25 EACH.
I wasn't sure how CC was going to take it, but I explained that I knew she wanted some UA stuff, but I couldn't afford to go crazy on it. She actually let out a squeek when I showed her the shirts. They're all in great condition. I haven't bought her anything in so long. I need some clothes too. I keep on tossing my "heavy" clothes in the give-away bag. I'm about a size 16-18 now, down from a high of 22-24. I have some sprng skirts and t-shirts that will fit better now, but I'm swimming in fabric for much of the old stuff. I'm trying to do my 40 bags before I go nuts on buying myself new things.
Ok, I'm off to clean out my bag 'o junk!
