Life is looking up. Second Mom gave me a loan, with hardly a question asked, which is odd for her. I think she's been waiting in the wings to do this for us. I told her I would pay a bit each week, and she told me to pay her back in monthly installments.

Just for the record, I borrowed $1500 and plan to pay her back $100-$150 a month, but with no interest. Thanks SM!

Of course, Renter has yet to pay me for March. As I get my financial act together, it's harder and harder for me to deal with him. Same old story. Hero does have his second job through June, and with my eBay sales, it does help me recover. We pay for camp in July, but there's no childcare cost in August. That's what still really hurts us.

Oh! And Hero is getting his retroactive pay raise soon. Thank God for that. Frankly, I wish he would search out other employment options. He works with such a bunch of crazies. My work is perfectly sane compared to them.

So, I'm cleaning out the attic now. I can't find the ugly ring that I want to sell - it's ugly, but it's also very heavy and gold. Hero is on board with all our cutbacks. It's a complete PITA, especially when we know people who dine out all the time or shop for no reason, but then I think that I don't want to waste my time with that. I haven't been to even the thrift store in ages! Poor Mei is wearing her sister's hand-me-downs and CC was in a real jeans phase when she was a size 7-8.

My kids, they're happy. My biggest problem with Mei is that she sings all.the.time. Her new favorite is "Let it Go." It's my favorite too, but I can only stand so much in the car! CC is really trying. She wanted to fight me about taking a shower this morning, but she sucked it up and did it. She's such a smart kid. What other child really forgets to show their parent test grades? I'm supposed to sign all her tests, to show that I've seen the results. She forgot to show me a test and I thought perhaps she got a bad grade. No. She got a 95%. She just really, really forgot!
