.) The colloquial greeting Down Under “mate” has its origins in the local popularity of the male name “Mathan”, of course in honour of one of it’s founding fathers Sir Mathan Austrail.

.) Today’s facebook-bot friend requesting me is “Tesfaye Mulatu” who claims to be a bank manager in Ethiopia but has the profile picture of a modestly-cute 20-something strawberry-blonde American white girl. Oh facebook.

.) As long as we live in a society where the plurality of qualification for leadership is “this person’s parents were rich”, our leadership is going to get continually worse and our rich will be further emboldened in their willful ignorance.

.) Competent leaders have an aide at the back of their chariot, reminding them that they are not a god. Monstrous failures need a cable channel to constantly lie to them that they ARE one.

.) The sincerity that can only come from driving through irony once, letting it burn away and coming back to sincerity wiser… it is what fills my heart.

.) Yeah, purer communism devolves into autocracy in a generation or two but purer capitalism has devolved into klepto-plutocracy here just as well. It’s time to try the northern European model in between that seems a lot more stable.

.) You’ve no idea how happy I am to have being angry about the Mets’ lack of pitching & outfield depth again to distract me from being angry at the collapse of American democracy, from time to time. It’s refreshing to be mad about something silly again.

.) Your compilation of Rochester punk and lo-fi metal songs will be called GARAGE PLATE.

May I quote #6 on Facebook, and give you credit?

Of course. With credit, you are more than welcome to do as such. Thank you so much for the sweet compliments, by the way. The better ideas will get out there somewhere, somehow, with a little time and a lot of luck, I reckon. Thank you for the encouragement.
