Apathy in Poetry

I’ve seen the eyes
Of another soul
Her sorrows take on
Another voice
And it’s not her choice
She follows the phases
Of the moon

Her tears
Become the wisdom
Of her fears
As she becomes lost
Inside the stars
Running without direction
Hoping to find
Her shooting star
Every day she glances
Out the window
Trapped inside her cell
As her mind becomes a living hell
Life just seems to pass by
As she becomes erased
She realizes that
Someone will take her place

Day and night
Produce their wars of fright
As she drifts along
Questioning paradise
Paralyzed by answers
She finds in herself
Frozen in time
Trying to camouflage
Her soul
To survive a world
Of a million disguises
That is too far to reach
A world that
Is too cold
And cannot be taught
The eyes of another soul
