New Way Rocks in 2016

Well, tonight is a weird night. I actually haven’t had a lot of free time lately, though I am still terrible about catching up. I always want to read every entry I’ve missed from my favorites before updating, but that becomes insane quickly. So I’m just gonna write and catch up on what I can.

So, yeah…Just got done having definitely unplanned sexy times. There’s certainly more to the story than what I know. Anyway, several months ago when my wallet was accidentally taken and I thought it was stolen, it was the cherry on the shit sundae that was my 2015, and I made a Facebook post about it all. This girl that used to donate at work, Alli, contacted me. She apparently saw my post even though we’re not friends(mad stalking skills, we have no mutual friends either) and sent me a message. Basically saying she had a crush on me for quite a while and thought I was nice and liked when I had longer hair. And then was apologetic and didn’t respond after I did. Then, nothing, until the end of March. More messages here and there, nothing consistent. And then 3 or 4 hours ago she hits me up asking to hang out.

She got dropped off, she came up to the apartment, and it was immediately on. I’m confident enough to know if a girl comes to my place, sexy times can happen if I make a move. This was something else. She was so furiously passionate, like bludgeoning my face with her lips repeatedly while coiling around me like a viper. She’s cute, shy, definitely quiet, and then that happens. Maybe she had been drinking? Anyway, sexy times were not as sexy as they should have been, and that’s on me. My, uh, equipment wasn’t up to snuff like usual, which hasn’t been a problem before. I had been drinking a little(and I have a ridiculously low tolerance for a 205 pound person), had eaten like a whole thing of cottage cheese earlier, had gotten a small amount of sleep and had a pretty long day, and felt a weird vibe, so maybe it was all that. I’m all for big things poppin’, little things stoppin’, but I wasn’t prepared for a duel. Regardless, we did our thing for a while, it was fun, and then she left.

And that’s where it gets weirder. Whoever it was that dropped her off had access to her Facebook on another device, since she had her phone. They sent several messages asking to have her call, then threatening to show up at my door if she didn’t call. This was only an hour and a half after she got dropped off. When I finally checked my phone, I told them sorry and that she’d call in a second. Who the fuck was so eager to pick her up so quickly and with increasingly hostile dialogue? Almost sounds like…a boyfriend. When she donated, she was dating another donor. He’s a nice guy, he stopped donating around the time she did, which was months ago. It said on her Facebook that she was engaged, but I have no idea how often she uses it since we’re not FB friends.

If it was her dude…what the fuck? Did he not know? There aren’t too many messages between her and I, and it’s very obvious that she likes me and is unhappy about something(perhaps a relationship). Did he not care? Was he too cowardly to stop it? Are they in an open relationship? If it’s a friend or someone else, why help set up your pal for funsies and then rush it? I don’t imagine I’ll hear from her again. That’s how it goes with the ladies who aren’t in some weird ass situation and this feels even less likely. If I do, well, we’ll see. I’ve been cheated on, it’s not cool. I also believe people are going to do whatever they feel in their heart and/or loins, lifestyle and convenience be damned. Maybe it’s something else entirely. I definitely should have done more research first, but then I don’t think it would have happened. I don’t think this is over though, not judging by the way she kept looking into my eyes. Keep Portland weird and whatnot.

Since I’m here, I may as well update on the non-weird stuff.

I’m back in school full-time. Doing okay so far. I just have Japanese at the school Monday and Wednesday afternoons, Technical Writing and Computer Science 161 are online. I dislike homework as always but really enjoy being back and feeling like I’m finally working toward something. I also ended up staying on full-time at work, still as a supervisor instead of going down to part-time as a phlebotomist. My boss came up and asked me if I was sure I wanted to be part-time and said they could work with me on my schedule. I thought about it, and even with using some loan moneys to live off of, it would have been really rough. I’d also have lost out on insurance, my 401K, paid time off, and being a supervisor. Things are so fucked staff-wise that the company wouldn’t have even let us open up another supervisor spot if I stepped down. I have Monday, Thursday and Saturday off. Most people hate splits, but I like it. Each of those days are homework days if need be and I never have to work more than two days in a row without getting a day off.

I’m hoping to get back into wrestling soon. The place I went to train at has moved their ring, and doesn’t have a regular venue right now. Still, there is a donor that trains there and I’ve learned from him that they do practice before shows, of which there is one on Saturday. That’s a start, I am itching to get back to it. I’ve been working out a bunch, then not, then again the last couple weeks. I put back on the weight I lost before, but some of it is definitely muscle, my arms are bigger than they were before. I still want to lose some of it, but it’s encouraging to see progress. I’ve been going with my co-worker Cody some nights and going on my own here and there otherwise.

My birthday was on the 15th of last month. I worked it, though my boss bought me lunch and let me go home early, so that was cool. The Friday after it I went down to Eugene to pick up my friend Peter before coming back to Portland. Peter, Ella, our new friend Alison and I went to see Con Bro Chill at some track medal ceremony thing that was in downtown Portland. Super random, but we’ve been wanting to see that band for a long time and it was a free show. Mega fun. The next night we had a birthday party at the apartment, that was also rad. A few co-workers showed up, there was drinking, Cards Against Humanity and of course blacklight dancing to 90s music.

After that I went down to Medford for a week. I feel like a king when I’m down there. I have tons of people to hang out with that are always super stoked to see me. I had four meals in a row bought for me cuz of birthday stuff, pretty rad. There were lots of good times had and I think it was crucial that I was able to get away for the week.

2016 had been carrying the funk of 2015 but it was like my year began once that birthday weekend started. Things feel different now. The scars of the past and of the misfortunes I suffered before are still there, but they’re much more distant than before. I’m keeping myself busy and feeling productive. It’s spring and the weather is finally sunny and nice sometimes instead of constantly rainy and gloomy. This is what I’ve been waiting for. Perhaps things will fall into place now. Maybe good things will happen. They already have started to. It’s a new day, and a new way of life, even if it’s similar to the old one. I got as much of a fresh start as is realistic to find at this point, so I’m going to make the most of it.
