prepare for the end in 2016

I can’t believe it’s after five already! I don’t want to say goodbye to my last day off!

Although, technically, we’re working less Sundays than we did last year so I should be grateful. I have this weird sensation like I should have been at the office today, probably out of some kind of obligation. But I’m sure it’ll be fine. Maybe we’ll lose clients, or something, but I’m kind of tired of people who aren’t loyal anyway. People that can’t wait a day to come in to see us, probably don’t care where they go and just want whatever is the easiest option. Those are the same people that are going to give us sit scores and btch about our prices. So no thank you!

I did a combination of things on my last day off. Slept in until 9 and then laid in bed until 10ish. Got up, made coffee, washed dishes, cleaned the kitchen, got dressed and took the coffee outside. The crazy blue bird was following my mom around as she dug up weeds. He must have gotten more than his share of worms this morning. And I can’t believe how tame he’s becoming! Last year he would have flown away at the sight of me walking up, or never gotten that close to her, but this time he was hopping right along beside her and didn’t even flinch when I walked up close. Crazy wild bird!

After coffee I went out front to wash the car. The sun had already come out but I was kind of out of options. If I’d waited until this afternoon it might not have been done. I couldn’t risk it. The car was that dirty. So I washed as quickly as I could [and used as little water as possible] and got to drying straight away.

I picked everything up and moved the car into the garage in an attempt to quit, but that didn’t last long. I pulled out the vacuum and got to cleaning out the entire car. That took a while. It never seems like a lot of work but it totally is! At least there’s a clean car to show for it! =)

Definitely took a break after that. Had a beer outside and then came in to make egg sandwiches since it was like 1pm and we hadn’t had breakfast yet. Delicious egg sandwiches made up for it though!
And gave me the energy I needed to scrub down the entire bathroom including vanity, toilet and tub. I really need to prepare for the no-day-off thing in advance. Which reminds me that I probably should have done laundry. I need to go check on that after I’m done here.

Not that I really know what else to write about. I got cleaned up after all that work and have basically spent the rest of the afternoon drinking beer and snacking on chips and salsa/guacamole. Probably shouldn’t have eaten my weight in chips though. That kind of kills any exercise I got this morning. hah.

I’m still trying to come up with ideas on how not to waste my summer break. And I’m still trying to come up with ways to stop focusing on people that aren’t even things. I mean, sure, it’s helped me finally move on from the ck thing [mostly], but damn. That little bit of hope kind of crushed me. Silly brain. Stop focusing on all the wrong stuff!
