Since a few of you asked about Europe I figured I’d just talk about Europe.
So, as a refresher, my best friend Sara married an air force man several years ago and promptly moved to middle-of-nowhere-Guam. Next move was to NC which was much closer and lovely. We’ve known for several years that Europe would be their next move, but we weren’t sure exactly where or when. I’d always had this idea of how fun it would be to visit when she moved to Europe but without a definitely time frame it was hard to really set down details. When she was visiting over Thanksgiving we found out that they’d be moving to Spain next May. Which immediately sent me into planning mode.
Other times I’ve mentioned going to Europe Adam has been kind of meh on the prospect. Time, money, etc. But we’ve done really well paying off our credit cards (the last one will be paid off in March) and if we ask for plane tickets for Christmas/birthday/anniversary from his parents then that’s one less expense. Plus 2016 will be 15 years of marriage and I feel we deserve the honeymoon we never had when we got married.
Em was at a birthday party a few towns over so we decided to explore a small town and ended up at a coffee shop. I brought the subject up to him again and this time his response was completely different like he actually MADE SUGGESTIONS and questioned where and when we’d need to get to certain places and it was AWESOME. He was actually drawing routes on napkins and stuff. It was great. Lots of plans still to be made but #1 on my list is England, of course. I have a friend who lives near London and when I mentioned coming she got super excited and said she’d meet us at Heathrow and basically be our tour guide for whatever we wanted. (Platform 9 3/4, here I come.) Honestly I would love to do Ireland and Scotland and spend two weeks straight up in the UK but I know that’s not possible so I’ll probably try to limit stuff to London area. We’ll go from England to France (not sure if we’ll go to Paris first or wait until we meet up with Sara and Steve) and I’d really like to rent a car and drive to Sweden. It’ll be about a 2-3 day trip but how fun to drive??? But considering time constraints we might have to take the train. We’ll see. A few days in Sweden and then I’d like to take the train down to Germany where we’ll meet Sara and Steve. I have a friend in Germany that I’d like to see while I’m there as well. Steve already has a resort picked out he wants us to stay at and then they will join Adam and me as we travel down to Spain.
So those are the major points for me: London, Sweden, Germany, Spain. I know we’ll have at least two weeks but GOD I’D LOVE THREE. Just don’t know how feasible it is at the moment. It’s going to be a whirlwind as it is but I guess that’s what happens when you go to Europe on time constraints. As most of you know I have a terrible fear of flying and already thinking about the trip makes me nauseated. BUT, I mean, Europe is my absolute dream, so I’m just going to have to get some Xanax and deal with it.
So, yeah, basically. Europe in 2017. Details still to be fleshed out but I’m making it happen.

That's awesome! Plus, now I don't feel so bad about no honeymoon after ten years...
