A forrest fire hit the town nearby. Its on the mountain.
My boss and one of my coworkers have been evacuated. Another coworker had two aunts in that town and they said the town is gone. The news isnt reporting it,but they watched their ring camera footage and said the houses are gone till the footage cut out. Its bad.
work was under a hellish cover of smoke. We had actual ash fall from the smoke blowing in.
It was so bad it burned all day.

Its about 50 miles from me, but there is a lot of praire between us. But the wind could turn... We had winds over 100 MPH in the flight path so when it was small, they couldent get flight planes in there. Now its 23k acres in under 8 hours and uncontrolled.
They put us under a fire ban.
The wind looks like its dying down a tiny bit... only 15 mph sustained. Maybe over night we will get some progress on putting it out.
