I decided to make a SM page for my blanket squares, one for every book I read in 2026... Plus a few randos seeing I have yarn ends im using up on them haha. Ive gotten through 52 books ( read) so far, I have about 60 squares so far. Im through book 31 fully, then did like book 34 and 44 because the yarns were easy to grab lol.
on the SM page, im making a photo of the square and the book cover. Oddly enough, Ive made like 4 posts and im getting 600/700 views per post. Now to get reactions? lol. We will see. Its not like a huge deal. I just wanted to keep the darn blanket separate seeing I dont share my tastes in reading with ANYONE. Literally.
I read ARCs under a pseudonym, ( like here, but they dont match in the least) I review books under that name. So the blanket is titled under that name. And no, no one can follow my goodreads lmao. I have no interest in defending my reading material. Or feeling judgy. I join plenty of reading groups but if i see ANY friends in them, im out haha. I dont care if they clearly share tastes, My boss said something when we joked of our mutual love of smut. She didnt want to think of me if I made a book rec, and vice versa. Though she did suggest I give ACOTAR a try. ( no thanks.. )
I do read "normal" books too. I have a poetry book, some text books. I like a clean cozy mystery book from time to time.
Anyway. This weekend I got 8 squares done and im working on another. Thats pretty good, Most of my squares are about 6 inches.
We went to the stores yesterday. Both Lowes, all 3 walmarts, and stopped at the grand opening of a plant store. Mostly we WERE looking for plants. The kitten took 2 of little girl's succulents. They are pretty. Green at the base and all new leaves grow in hot pink. We found it at walmart. So seeing 2 went missing and are presumed dead. I was going to replace it. We didnt find any, so I got her a wandering dude Nanuk ( its purple) for her room. I got myself two new spikey not friends ( cacti) one is a "boobie cactus" seriously, it has boobs on it, the other is a ghost cacti. White, with big spines. I have my cacti at work in mushrooms I get from the dollar general. All my mushrooms live in those. So I had 2 shrooms left, so two cacti to add to the wall. I have thes hexagon shelves in my office and the mushroom cacti are in them.
I also got a new hanging plant... And bought 6 columbine for my staff for admin appreciation day ( and candy, and im catering lunch for them, and i got them all gift boxes with blankets, slippers ect. Last fall I did their names on glass water cups, filled with self care items. I try to be a appreciative manager! But im castering lunch and ( on the clock) they are going to come have lunch with me lmao. They can take their "official" lunch hour too.
T ran a new water line under the house, So we have a hose spigot on the other side of the house. We had a freeze on Friday and we may have lost two of our new bushes. Sad. They were pretty! Because ADHD, everything we plant, we also run a water line directly to it so it gets watered on the timer.
Lets see. Today we got up, T little girl and I ran to the greenhouse WAAAYYYYY out of town, nothing fun, so we hit up home depot, nothing fun, and went back to the walmart for a new hose. The one to the chickens sprung a leak, he fixed, it sprung another ( three times) so we just got a new one. I bought a plant there, little girl got chips.
I did make my croissant danishes. Next time ill add lemon to the cream cheese mixture. And i got puff pastry to try them that way too. T thinks im making him toaster strudels. lol. okay then.
I told him about a dry bar in town and he wants to go sometime. I think it would be fun. Ive never been to a bar in my life lol. Babies at 17 you know.
I let L drive us to the gas station in my lexus today. I was freaking out. Hes 14 and too young for his permit here ( old enough in AK) But we went SOOO slow and thats fine. He even backed out of the parking lot to turn around.
Ch is close to getting his license. We just bought his JR prom tickets. Waiting on what color his girlfriends dress is to get his tie and pocket squares and flowers. Its either pink or blue. Maybe I can find a tie in both. I may make her flowers again. I did for their hoco too. But anyway he may be able to get his license by Christmas ( GAG) He will be 17 in August.
Co started working at a sandwich joint. He needs some new brakes in his car. Otherwise his big ass is eating me out of house and home. Did I mention that boy is 6 ft 5... He is.
B is not doing AS well. His engine in his car blew and they have been working on it for almost 4 months. 4 months of me driving him to and from work, I work at 7 30, he works at 8 so I drop him off early, I get off at 4, he gets off at 6 so I have to wait TWO FUCKING HOURS every day, four days a week, to take him to and from work. Then on weekends I have to let him take my car. OR get up and bring him in and out. Did I mention he works on the FAR side of town... Yeah, 15 minutes further then I work. Not is not an option, He needs to get the car working. And he is bipolar, so I gotta watch him like a hawk so he dosent sink into a depressive stink. Its hard...
Lets see. I think little girl is getting closer to starting her period. When we were camping I was teaching her how to quick shower in the camper and noticed she has pubic hair coming in. We are getting there yall. And my last period, Fuck she was moody and crying. It was HARD. Im like damn it, shes cycling with me, I dont PMS bad but T does. So now I have him AND her. I get a bit more short tempered, but yeah. Shes close, Prob this summer....I bought her womans size zeros this last time for jeans. and XXS. Shes tall and skinny and all legs. Jr high for her next year.
Next year, Ill have a Sr, A sophmore and a 6th grader.... Then Ch will graduate... just two left. Not that the older kids moved out. Have you SEEN the cost of living... We are just dealing with it. And they cant live together...
Im going to go candle chicken eggs as soon as its dark. She started sitting when I had my surgery on the 1st, so we should see if they are developing, if they arent I may try to break her broody by throwing her around. Or if she has some developing, take the ones that arent so she can better warm the ones that are... idk. We thought we heard peeping today. It was some birds but not her. Close though. I estimate in another week.
Tomorrow is the grand opening of building 7! The one the boss and I have been occupying since December. Alone, just us, NOW we will have 6 therapists with us,... and clients. We have been SO used to it just being us. taking up the whole fridge, using whichever bathroom we want whenever we want. Sitting at our desks ( offices side by side) and yelling at each other, or chatting with doors open... Its going to be SO fucking weird. Good for us, but weird. I cant wait to get to know the new therapist whos been in the far building waiting for this one. And I already really like my other office mates. We put almost all the HUGE personalities in one building. Everyone else is screwed for decorating lmao. All the power hitters for the decorating contests are in the same building. Of course that means... we gotta learn to work together too and we are not exactly... known for backing down. And CEO is a minimalist lmao. The rest of us, Not so much...
Anyway there are some Sunday night thoughts. Tomorrow is going to be a whopper with the new building. Hope it goes well. Im NOT ready... I dont have the ipad set up. They tore apart my office to install a new door to make it ADA this weekend, My office is in shambles. The waiting room was a mess. I gotta get it set to rights before 8 and I wont get in till 7 40 with dropping off the boy...
