I managed to leave for Florida a whole day prior to the beginning of the ice age. I drove to Gainesville FL and stayed for 2 days. I think I would assimilate well into a college town. There’s a lot to do and at least a few times a year the town is empty.
I caught a Cirque show while I was there. It’s the one called Paranormal. Not gonna lie - it wasn’t worth it. I’m not sure I’ll trust them throwing up their tent in a mall parking lot anymore. I’ve seen their shows before and was amazed… This one - not so much. I saw more thongs than tricks, heard more F bombs than funny jokes and the one bit making fun of the Baptist preacher… That was a little too close to home but still bad taste.
The Cruise was fun. It was a smaller boat so I pretty much went all over it in about 30 minutes. I usually make a connection with at least one person when I’m on these trips.... Nothing.
