This morning, the biggest thing we discussed was Generative AI in courts. And the answer was not “We’re working to ban it”. The answer was mostly, “We’re all fucked. Isn’t it fun to be at the end of civilization?” I mean… Generative AI is destroying the environment faster than we could have ever hoped to do… Generative AI is specifically being used to give students a way to NOT learn and NOT do their work… Generative AI is specifically being used to create “photo-realistic child pornography using legally obtained photos of actual children”… Generative AI is being used to remove ARTISTS from Art so that Billionaires can have PRETTY without MESSAGE… Generative AI..... has already been used to destroy people’s faith in “Trust what you see” evidence! TRUE STORY:
A School Administrator was investigating a Phys Ed Teacher for “misappropriation of funds.” The Phys Ed Teacher was upset by this and created a DeepFake Audio where the School Administrator spoke awfully about black students and black teachers- truly racist shit… that the Administrator never said! You can actually create a genuinely believable AI voice of anyone with only 3 to 10 seconds of speech! So, after creating these vile and monstrous FAKE audio files… the Phys Ed Teacher released them on social media. The response was immediate and extreme. The School Administrator was sacked, the deluge of death threats meant the School Administrator had to flee from his home! The School Administrator’s life was ruined! And the Phys Ed Teacher (who successfully got the embezzlement investigation shut down long enough to truly enjoy the money he was stealing from a SCHOOL)..... could have gotten away with it very easily. His biggest mistake? He made the deepfakes at school. And when I say “Could have gotten away with it” I mean.... WHAT HE DID IS NOT A CRIME could have gotten away with it. He was charged with misuse of school property and sentenced to 4 months in jail.... AND THAT IS IT as far as Criminal Consequences are concerned.
As a demonstration, one of the speakers took a photo of her 4 year old son. Told AI to generate a video based on the photo where her son walks to a flower, smells it, and puts the flower back. She was able to make this happen within seconds and it spit out a video that did exactly what she asked. BUT the demonstration was supposed to show us that there are in fact websites that we can use to detect if something is A.I. WELL, you fucked up because of the 3 selected (all 3 of which were listed as TOP FIVE BEST)… of those 3, two of them detected no AI usage in the video. That we had just watched her create through generative AI. So… we’re fucked is the take away from that.
I had more that I was going to say but then the day got away from me. Tomorrow promises to be painful. The next many days promises to be painful. My goal? My goal for tomorrow is to get to the office by 5 am or 6 am. I need to
(1) Prepare 5 Trials worth of evidence, all 5 trials scheduled for THURSDAY (so the day I’m preparing them)
(2) Prepare 5 Jury Hearings worth of Prep, all 5 hearings are scheduled for 10:00 and 10:30 am on THURSDAY (so the day I’m preparing them)
(3) I need to have a frustrating conversation with my assistant and the School Board
(4) I need to prepare Friday Morning’s Hearings
(5) I need to docket and subpoena December 4th
(6) I need to have a bullet proof plan for Friday 21, Saturday 22, Monday 24, Tuesday 25, and Wednesday 26
POINT OF ORDER: Item 1 and 2 up there need to be finished by 10 a.m.- no exceptions no excuses!
POINT OF ORDER: Items 3 through 6 up there need to be done between 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Then Thursday night, I am picking up Casino Woman from her home and taking her to dinner. We’ll see what happens. If literally any other date happens after this- it will be my first third date since Hermia(!). But I’m not counting chickens before they hatch. I am also still needing to reach out to Match Maker Match. I’ll send a “Hi! Brief Intro about me! I’d love to get a coffee or buy you dinner sometime; with the holiday coming up- I know schedules are wild, but if you’re interested- let me know when might work for you! :)” And we’ll see if that comes off to needy, too eager, or.... whatever.
There’s… an entry I want to write ifever/whenever I can find the time. Essentially- really going over the Mental Health Breakout and walking through my hobbies and habits which all pretty strongly point directly to yeah, all of the hormonal shortages they said come with the job have ABSOLUTELY COME WITH THE JOB..........and the “solutions” given were certainly not effective. But I don’t know when I’ll have time to do that and I don’t know if it is best here or my more sexually charged space. BUT… first, let’s see if I survive tomorrow!
