I saw a very close relative in the store the other day. I haven’t been able to see them in about 3 months. When I’m available I would text and they would always have something else they were doing or had promised someone else their time. I would leave it open - just call or text when you are free because I would like to hang out. When I would just call - they either wouldn’t answer or they would text that they were busy.
I finally get to see them and they walked up, said hello and then asked me how to use the Sam’s scanner app. I showed them and had to walk with them for a bit just to ask about how they were doing. They just wandered in an opposite direction and left as if we had seen one another every day.
I get it, people are busy - heck - I’m busy.
But, every now and then you’d expect your mom to at least WANT to visit with ya or give you her time.
I’m seriously contemplating booking an event on Thanksgiving and Christmas this year for an excuse to keep me from saying no.
Geez.. I sound sort of pathetic.. I need something good to happen.
