I have a cousin that is getting married soon. They hit me up to handle some of their music. I wanted to help out so I agreed. Then, they wanted to sing a song to their husband and asked if I could get them a track recorded.
I’m no psychic but I knew something like that was about to happen. So, I told them that I would put it together - which, no one does this for free so guess who has to pay for that.
I take an entire day and work on getting it charted and produced. Sent it over and now they want it mixed different. You don’t just redo it - I sent over the mix while I was sitting in the studio and she’s like - we’re together now so I’ll have to listen later.
I have this rule that broke for this wedding- don’t work for family. I’ve kept this rule for several years and because I thought this one was different I chose to do do it.
I have a good mind to tell her it is what it is and can’t be redone. Either use it or don’t - and if it messes up your perfect day then maybe God wants it that way to teach your entitled self a lesson early about marriage.
I’d have more to write but apparently my better judgement is headed back to the studio to beg for a few more hours to make good on the bridezilla’s request!
So - no more working for family!
