Well we had a experience at work. I cant talk too much about it because Hipaa but I can talk a bit.
I had 5 interviews back to back and one canceled. So me and the boss are sitting here, Ok im sitting on my laptop, shes laying on her therapy couch and we are chatting about our applicant options and I get a text from operations director. She was in a supervision with one of our therapists who started acting REALLY weird. She was freaking out. So we walk over, im troubleshooting by text, could it be video breaking up, internet issues. She basically said no, shes saying REALLY weird things and repeating/looping. Like her brain shut off.
We go in and she totally was. Full on medical emergency. We call 911 and they get there in TWO minutes. We give our report and they say maybe a stroke. When they tried to move her, she had a full seizure, a minor one at first and then a grand mal and we are all just standing there. Me CEO, our clinical director, two interns an another therapist. The babies must have been so traumatized. We were trying not to cry.
Shes awake now, and responding, but they dont know what happened and thankfully she dosent remember.
Of course I go home and T had a shit day too and we ended up having a massive fight. Which continued for Friday too. It was gnarly. We worked things out last night but still. Ive had a migraine for two days now.
We missed the balloon launching for the local festival. All the hot air balloons. I couldn't handle it at 6 am. Sadly. I saw them last year but still its fun to see them!
We fired our newest receptionist. She was out 93 hours in 200 scheduled hours, and a further 16 hours was PTO. FFS. Yeah no. We basically told her come or dont. She said she would and she didnt. So we let her go, or rather we decided to hire someone else because S is leaving sometime soon and let her do whatever. She texted to quit. I wrote a REALLY long statement detailing her absences and why...
We interviewed 4. We loved three. One didnt have references to give back to us. The second was pristine. The third we liked... well turns out her daughter sees us. Adult daughter, Hiring her could cause a lot of issues so we dont know what to do yet... Debating.
I have two more interviews tomorrow.
Im TOALLY thrileld with the one. She WAS a previous client. But A. Its been more then 18 months ( practice minimum is 1 year) And her therapist gave us the 100% go ahead! I locked her charts so her therapist dosent have access and she said she would be an AMAZING fit for our team. Her references were steller. Like WOW. And this kid, shes 25 but dammmn. Ive never had someone interview so well and her questions were fire. We are open to hiring more then 1 seeing technically we will replace S when she leaves. So if we find someone else. or take the other gal ( which while i liked her, im leaning heavy on no. Its too risky. She would be good, REALLY good. But it comes with a risk. And I told R I dont want complicated, I just want someone to come and do the job and not ruffle any more. And she agreed to that. Its just is it worth it.
In any event. Im trucking away at my halloween blanket. I have one more panel to do today then sew together. I have wool dying in the pot outside. More drying in the breeze.
Oh and if you like to crafty DIY. This guy on facebook is making me want to buy ALL the craft stuff!!
So time to go to the store and get some meat for the freezer and maybe pout my way into some crafty stuff.
