The day went better than expected, at least the work portion. I’m chalking it up to the Intern’s luck as this is his last week and shouldn’t be a nightmare roller coaster when you’re on your way out and heading back to Law School. Of course, his leaving sets me up for my own nightmares as the storm clouds were specifically set to gather after August 10th. But that’s also why I have some things on my social calendar for the month. Phone call to my parents this week; a former director’s 70th birthday this Saturday, audition for Rip Cord on Monday, Democrat meeting that Tuesday, and volunteering at the Pride Fest event on August 23rd. So… some things on my calendar?
My brain isn’t… helpful.... sometimes, though. SO… it is very much me to preorder games. Even in this market. And I am a huge Borderlands 4 fan. SO, when Borderlands 4 Pre Orders started in July, it is logical that I would have done that. I kind of remember doing that. But I don’t have anything in my e-mail that confirms I preordered the game. I would NOT preorder from Target, I learned that lesson. But my Amazon, which does confirm that I preordered Mortal Kombat Legacy, does not confirm that I preordered Borderlands 4. I’ve checked all the digital places to check- no confirmation. I checked the bank account, but typically-they won’t charge the account until the product is actually out for delivery. So… I have nothing confirming that I preordered the game. HOWEVER it would be exceedingly unlike me for me to have not preordered the game. Especially as I kind of vaguely mostly remember preordering it. BUT there’s also this thing called “wish listing” it which I don’t get so maybe I did that instead? And I know this is silly and stupid and small but… I’m left asking “What’s the best if the bad happens scenario?”
I preorder the game tonight. BAD HAPPENS: When the game comes out, I wind up with two copies and have to go through the hassle of returning or re-selling or gifting it to someone.
I do not preorder the game tonight. BAD HAPPENS: When the game comes out, I wind up with no copies and have to place an order for the base game, without any of the add ons or bonuses or “special gifts”.
Considering I have no romantic partner and no children; the logical answer seems to be “Pre Order it. If you find that you have two- you know you can gift it to your Best Friend or your Brother, most likely.” But then my mind throws up a caution flag and says, “But how likely is it that you didn’t already pre-order? Honestly?” SO… that’s the big question in my mind right now.
I just… I strongly feel like I already ordered it from Best Buy. THAT SAID Best Buy does say on the website “free shipping, free returns”. SO… I will try to do some more computer sleuthing on my own tonight and.... if I can’t prove conclusively? I may go ahead and order it (again) and worry about a Returns Process when or if that becomes important.
NOW I SAY THIS BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO IT SO… IT MAY NOT GO PERFECTLY but my hopes and my plans for this evening?
(1) I desperately need a haircut and really should get one before an audition. Not that I’m necessarily likely to book the show; but best to be sure.
(2) I need to fuel my car. It hit the “light up” version of E
(3) My black suit coat has suffered from the No AC and must immediately be placed into the Dry Cleaning Bag
(4) Nala should be walked or taken to the dog park
(5) I finally emptied the damned dishwasher last night. Thursday is trash night. So I have tonight and tomorrow night to try to get the house back into acceptable shape for Friday. And if I can motivate myself to get lots and lots done… I can still maybe try to squeeze in some Rug Doctoring on Thursday night??
(6) Stash 100 or so redeemable items in the car’s trunk so that tomorrow- I may do some redemption and buy more fruit, at the very least.
SO.... not… terribly… ambitious. Per Se.
I mean… hair cut… I don’t have a place that does that around here. And the cleaning is… I mean… I’m sure if I can stay motivated and focused it won’t take more than 3 hours but… that’s a lot to ask at the end of the day. So… we’ll see.
(Just saw the commercial for “Rental Family”… I know on a fundamental level, the premise is problematic but… Brendan Frasier in a mostly Asian film? Mark me down as curious and interested.) Particularly, since there is a real history behind the “Rental Family” concept. And yes, reading about it, I found myself thinking “I could do this job”, lol.
… … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … …
Well, that was… a disappointment.
Got fuel.
Got haircut… honestly not thrilled with it.
Took Nala to Dog Park.
Nala got attacked a little… which… obviously is bad. Checked her for injuries and calmed her down. Gave her some time alone in a different part of the park.
Grabbed dinner on the way home.
And wasn’t back home until 8:30!!!
So… grumble grumble.
TOMORROW non-negotiable! Tomorrow- no dog park, no delays, no distractions. Come home then get straight to cleaning!
