We are sitting in our manager meeting and J walks in and says dont be alarmed but all of B street is blocked off by firetrucks and a house is on fire. But dont worry. Its not OUR house.
OH MY GOSH WHAT?!?! Not hte new house we just bought. So i ask my reception team, What the heck? And T says therapist and I were just going to stroll. We will go check. Im like YASSS go rubberneck it.
Turns out its the house NEXT to ours. As if fires CANT jump to a neighboring house/!!!
Thankfully the fire wasnt bad and they got it out. I dont know how much damage but i dont think too much. So THAT was eventful!
Then I got an email from our HVA parent company asking if we want to do a mid year bonus for them. Im sure it goes out to everyone. But I asked what was appropriate and she pretty much is like IDK what you feel they are worth.
Well our Filipino gals living in another country have a different value of money then we do! Their cost of living is different to say the LEAST. So im looking it up, and like $100 is a lot of money to them! So far we landed on giving them 6 paid holidays off, same ones we get, plus 4 hours for Christmas eve. But in talking with H. We realized they dont get health insurance and furthermore because they are employed outside the Philippians. They dont get money paid into their health plans! So while we pay them way better then they can get there, They dont get health insurance. Which feels bad.
So now we are researching how much of a bonus to give them to cover their health insurance. Sources vary from 300-800 per year. USD per YEAR for full health benefits and dental. WHAT?! Because we bought two locations, im not too sure if we can do that full amount. But H started crying when I emailed her about the paid holidays. She was telling me a bit about helping raise her younger sister from infancy. Which is a lot! These ladies arent that forthcoming about themselves so she opened up a bit. I said I hope it allows you some more time with your family. I gave them 3 set holidays and 3 floating recognizing days like memorial day may not have meaning to them, and ( minimal ) affect to us too. Client still call. So 3 to use for national holidays of their own. Both are religious so Christmas is a given but its a set day too haha.
In any event. Im still looking at the health insurance angle. Btu we likely will go with cash around 100-150 each.
Ok i feel gross. Im in the living room and Ch is on his game chatting with his friends about some sexual stuff his friends are doing... Gag. Seriously... I know they are 16ish but come on... Im in the living room. Im grateful its not HIM but still.... I hope these other kids are being safe...
Anyway... haha. Random weirdness. The fire was like a THING today!
