the mask of normal in anticlimatic

I believe there’s two types of people in the world: normals, and weirdos.
Each with a mask the other might wear.

Most people are normals, per the inherent nature of term, and can be viewed either as stalwart pillars of humanity or derelict peons, depending on the day.

Some normals dislike their inherent normality and adorn the mask of the weirdo to express a needed separation, however superficial. Lots of great and mediocre artists here.

A smaller cohort of people are weirdos, and of that cohort there are two fundamental camps: weirdos who are Peak Human (‘real people’ as my good buddy would call them) wholly independent and unique, empathetic, and a contributor to the greater good. And weirdoes who are malignant- predators, anti-social personality types.

Both types can dislike their inherent weirdness and adorn the mask of the normals, the former because of shyness or a fear of rejection, and the later out of a need to avoid a pitch fork mobs and lure victims.

Masks only work for so long. Eventually the string around the back begins to show.
Best to be done away with completely.

Some normals like that they are normal, lean into it, and tend to be Peak Human.
Some weirdos like that they are weird, lean into it, and also tend to be Peak Human.

The moral of the story:

Know which you are.
Choose to like yourself for it.
And enjoy a life unburdened.
