In a weird twist of me not paying full attention at what I grabbed at the library I ended up reading a few military graphic novels.

Terminal Lance The White Donkey by Maximilian Uriarte was very moving. Written and drawn by an Iraq vet.

Frontline Combat by EC (various writers/artist)
50’s short story war comics, four stories per comic. Five total. (Note: I am a self proclaimed EC expert. This was from the reprints they did in the 90’s. Collected editions.)

Safe Area Gorazde: The War in Eastern Bosnia 1992 - 95 by Joe Sacco is utter brilliance. Investigative Journalist/Cartoonist.
Extensive, on the ground story told from survivors. He has other books in this format.

To those that served.
