The gal ghosted us.
She didnt respond to the job offer at ALL. We texted, emailed and left a vm with nothing.
SOOO I moved down the list to the second gal I liked. Got one reference back already. Ill call the other one tomorrow. Time difference so he wasnt in when I called.

Like who goes through the process of interviewing and our interview is pretty difficult, taking an assessment, providing references. And then Ghosting!?!
Then a client said she knows her and gets a contact high just by being near her at kid drop off at school.
Its like damn. We didnt smell that in the interview. And we dont care what you do in your own time, but you cant do it where it can affect patient care. But if you are with your kids. Thats not good either.

In any event. Moving on. Second gal asked for 25-30 hours a week. OMG. How. I said the lowest I can manage is 35. 7 hrs plus lunch a day. She said ok. Whew. I need a FT person.

I dont want to start over. BUT I will if I have to!

I think the only time I've ghosted a prospective employer was after an unreasonably low, low-ball offer of pay/benefits. But like you said, why go through all the hoops just to ghost someone?

legally all wages in Colorado have to be posted on the job posting. So if you post it, you must post wages. We pay on par with other companies for reception. So its not redic lowball and we have 401k and health insurance offered with employer contribution. Its not terrible benefits.
Especially knowing wages up front.

I'd at least have the courtesy to decline ! Wow.

ChainedChrysalis Small Town Girl ⋅ March 05, 2024

Right. I mean just a thanks but no thanks. Or Im no longer interested email would be fabulous. I message every person I interview saying thank you for your time, we have decided to go with a different applicant email.

Small Town Girl ChainedChrysalis ⋅ March 08, 2024

See, and most places don't even give you the sorry but we're not interested email! This world I tell you!

ChainedChrysalis Small Town Girl ⋅ March 08, 2024

I know. Our HR specialist told us we dont need to. But I still feel like its just polite to say no thank you.

Small Town Girl ChainedChrysalis ⋅ March 09, 2024

Yeah. It's rude not to when someone is taking the time and effort to join your team. Especially when they may be very excited about the opportunity!

ChainedChrysalis Small Town Girl ⋅ March 09, 2024

Exactly. I always say something along the lines of. Thank you so much for taking the time to come in and meet with me. You have many excellent qualities and I am sure you will find an amazing job that will be the perfect fit for you. We have decided to go in a different direction with our team. We wish you all the best in your job search.

Its kindness.

I like that! That's good! I'm glad some people are still courteous. It feels like the world os so cold and callous in so many ways, and not being personable and friendly and courteous goes a long way in that. We blame it on social media and the younger generation, but man simple things like thus are our generation. We've become too busy to give people proper courtesy! Haha end mini rant!
