Summer Fortune in anticlimatic

When I was a kid I attributed a benevolent will to the universe, and perhaps people, when in reality it was just the herculean efforts of kind and generous individuals who felt compelled to look after my well being.

We feel compelled to give to the young and the beautiful.

All want to give- but we want to give to those who need, and it’s always the young who need the most. They’re reliably worthy recipients of charity.

The beautiful are deities, or at least a path to divinity. We lay things at the porcelain feet of the beautiful like we lay them at the foot of a temple alter.

In the company of others, the beautiful young have no want for anything anywhere across the universe…but unto you, wary be- it is nothing more than than the labor of an aging and dying people- a people whence replaced, are replaced by you.

The good fortune God of summer youth, dark now and absent, we see finally for what it really was- and we fabricate, like Gwin Lord Of Cinder, a good fortune God of our own- in a lantern or a matchbox- seeking the young and the beautiful to give it to- the gift that only can be given, only for a little while.

The band isn't bad, but that rod Stewart genre of vocal range kind of hurts my ears for some weird reason I can't describe.
