  1. If it wasn’t the name of a deadly insect borne illness, “malaria” would be a great name for a flower. “Oh, you know it’s June when you see the malarias in bloom.”

  2. Anxiety is a culture, a culture where only the mistakes count and all mistakes are unforgivable catastrophes. I was born into that culture, raised into it, but I’m trying to shake off its dust. The good things count and the bad things are rarely as bad as anxiety believers.

  3. A burlesque tribute to the film “High Fidelity” called “Thigh Fidelity”.

  4. The problem with family, no matter how much you love them and they love you, is that they’ve seen you at your absolute worst and sometimes can’t help but see that worst as your default baseline. It takes some navigating, at times.

  5. If it isn’t me being picked as the host of a game show or being cast as the lead role in a superhero movie, I could not care less, I assure you. Generational wealth would be neat and useful but that’s as far as it goes.

  6. In England, the phrase is “burnt to a potato chip”.

  7. Pre-nups just make sense, I think. If you truly love each other, you’d want the other one to be protected if things went south. If you don’t truly love each other, you’d want yourself to be protected if things went south. They make sense, for different reasons, in all cases.

  8. How are my fellow Mets fans still tryna be “glass half-full”? The glass is always about to get knocked off the table & shatter into a million pieces. This is just the mystery of our faith. C’mon now. We been getting punched in the nards since ‘86, at least learn to wear a cup.
