Banks collapsed.
USDC unpegged.
BTC pumped.

In other news, the electricity is slowly making it’s way through the house. Currently half the kitchen has new 3-wire proper grounded conduit wiring. It’s a relief to have even that much done. Lot more to go, though.

DH and I talked abouthis experience of last Sunday at his family’s dinner. Not exactly surprisingly, he stated that he felt like he was just a few clicks ahead of most of them, and found them to be boring, petty, or unimpressive.
Unimpressive is probably the most accurate word for them as a group, imo. I had a distinct experience while speaking to one of DHs cousins at that dinner. M, only a year or maybe 2 younger than I, went to the same school but struggled to graduate, now droning without inflection or affect about his house renovations. He stands without import, his body screaming “skinny fat” by it’s lack of posture and the way his soft flesh hangs on his frame. Even his bones seem soft. I watched and observed his mannerisms, they way he presented, and I thought what environmental conditions or choices led to this man being this way?. It seemed very sad. I became aware of the larger picture of his life; an intellectual father similarly devoid of physicality, who failed to impart either physical or mental resistance sufficient for his son to develop any strength in either sphere. And an overbearing ideologue of a mother who moralizes, shames, and castigates any dissent. I could see, almost instantaneously, how M’s parents created what I was seeing before me now.
And still there is free will. The choices M makes however are always in accordance with his parents. Everything from his mannerisms to his medical decisions screams deference to ideology.
And in the same instant that I saw M’s parents influence, I saw the alternative choices available to M. Who knows what the outcome of those alternative choices would have been; but they certainly would have brought the ire of his mother.

Anywho. DH and I talked about how disparate IQs in groups is positive and negative.
Currently, it is uncouth in society to acknowledge IQ disparity. This is a simple shaming tactic that always benefits lower IQ individuals. Since by default, a lower IQ can never understand or empathize with the high IQ. It must always be the high IQ that understands, empathizes and sympathizes with the lower IQ. So the low IQ will always benefit from the insight, understanding, long term planning, and productivity of the high IQ. In short, an unacknowledged IQ disparate society is a negative for high IQ and positive for low IQ.
Again, IQ is no one’s fault. It’s just a fact of life. Like height. Yet the short people are shaming and menacing the tall people; demanding that they get stuff for them off tall shelves and giving no thanks. If a tall person should notice the lack of reciprocity, he is relentlessly bullied into subjugation. Sometimes by his peers, and sometimes by the shorter people. And of course the short people benefit from the added services they receive.
If society were just, or if the high IQ were just, reciprocation, negotiation, etc, would be the default. It is essentially up to the high IQ to demand value for value. Or else simply decline to participate, Atlas Shrugged style. Or find or create a society with other people who share their values.
And, when welfare is ubiquitous (the violent redistributing of resources) there can never be negotiation.
So, I think, the very high IQ will leave this predatory system. And when they leave society, it inevitably collapses. This is also sad, because it will be disproportionately the low IQ that suffer from this catastrophe. Both in small groups like the family and larger like America.
