When I was a kid. Well, teenager. I felt a disconnect with my dad. Has lasted to this day. And I’m so glad I made the decision I did. To decide upon other role models other than him.

I made the active decision to make The Fonz, Spock, and Weird Al, as my role models. Whether it worked, it doesn’t matter. Whether they’re the best, it doesn’t matter. I still stand by my teenage decision.

Trying to follow what my dad said would have crushed me more than I am crushed today.
