Alaska day 2 in My Therapy Book

Walked down to a local market today and talked to Jenny the whole way. It was about 4 blocks but coming back was all downhill, so I only had to worry about making it there. The hotel is very nice but the Restaurant area is not reopened yet so there was not really any breakfast food. The market was like a huge Fresh Market we have at home. I would shop here.
We set sail toady. The launch was a big party with a ribbon cutting and everything. They had not sailed in 16 months; everyone was psyched about finally having passengers onboard. We were the second group in line for check in and the first group on board the ship after suite passengers. The entire crew were out to greet us with music, dancing and champagne. I don’t normally drink the stuff but free liquor, who passes that up. We got our room within an hour of being on board and the view from the balcony was amazing. I can not imagine what it will be like when we are out at sea. The cabin is nice with plenty of room. Dinner was a bit of a bust. They have a lot of kinks to work out. I had been seated for nearly an hour and 20 minutes and only had a piece of bread. I almost left and went to the buffet on the lido deck instead. The waitress brought one out a table mates their dessert with the appetizers and brought the wrong food on another occasion. After dinner several of the events were put on hold because we were supposed to be in international waters by 7:30 and by 9 we still were not. People were starting to get testy about the shops and casino not being open. They finally opened around 9:15 with about a quarter of the slot machines still having some sort of technical issue. Nancy finally on and played for about 3 hours. I went to the welcome aboard talk and show. They performers made up for the dinner fiasco.
I am already missing my family. I took a deep breath once we were on the boat, texted goodbye to everyone and shut down my phone. I hope that our app and website see some progress while I am away. It is odd but I miss my wife and kids already and it has not even been 2 days.
