Good news/Bad news update in A Day in the Life of Me

Good news - got the second quote back, lower then the first, and so Mom’s going with that guy.
Bad news - It will be 2-3 weeks before he can start the work, because he has to get the permits. He could get them done sooner if an emergency permit was applied for, but that’s an extra $500 that she refuses to pay.

Good news - A.C. was finally in to see her, as he got ambushed today by my friend who lives down there, and he happened to be at her business. He went straight out to see Mum.
By the time he left, she had a casual house cleaning gig.
Bad news - The community hall has $0 funds available thanks to covid, because all their fundraising drives happen AT the Hall in the form of dinners/dances/auctions etc, and also, she does not qualify for any grants.

Good news - The quotes coming in lower then originally quoted by MIA electrician, so I have lowered the GFM goal as a result
Bad news - The GFM seems to have stagnated, I haven’t had any activity on it now in 4 days.

Bad news- Just got off the phone with my friend who had her baby last summer (baby’s a year next month). She is pregnant with her second, but got really heartbreaking news. Looks like I am going over to her place for a few days to look after baby P while my friend goes in to be induced .... baby2 hasn’t developed kidneys. She’s 20 weeks along :(
