I’ve been hacking up snot ‘n’ mucus for two days now.
“Tobacco smoke slows the normal movement of the tiny hairs (cilia) that move mucus out of your lungs. When you stop smoking, the cilia become active again. As the cilia recover and the mucus is cleared from your lungs, you might cough more than usual. This might last for several weeks.”
I got some decent sleep last night. Got up earlyish and did my errands. Had time to grab lunch, too.
Work. I love my boss but I wanted to break his legs tonight and no, it wasn’t nicotine withdrawal. I was cleaning the drainage area where coolant comes out before filtration. DRAINAGE AREA! SCRUBBING! SO POINTLESS! Then, when he attempted to plug the shop vac into the machine, pop goes the breaker! When his boss got the machine up and running again it seemed the pump that recirculates the coolant is now burned out. 🤦
At some point he removed the filter grates from the machines, pressure washed then repainted them. I want to pull him aside and say, “Dude…I admire your gumption and these Fidals are dirty. But stop. No one will appreciate this for long wether if they actually do or not.”
Got home, showered, ate. Nearly passed out on the couch so decided to go to bed. Too hot, started to sweat (with two fans on no less.) Hour later here I am, sucking down frozen Mt. Dew for my throat, watching Frasier reruns laying on the couch. I’m tired but awake. Fuck it. I’m off today.
Too much ache from too much deep cleaning.
Sleep will come at some point. Meanwhile, Golden Girls just came on. Thank you for being a friend…
