I haven't written one in a while.
This week at work has been parent teacher conferences. What's hard about that happening in a preschool is that the teacher can't just walk out and talk to a parent, someone has to walk in and watch these babies and we don't have enough teachers for them all to switch off at the same time so that means me, the other receptionist and even the director and the associate director have to spend time in classrooms - but it's hard to get anything don't when you're in and out of classrooms telling babies to stop running before they trip and fall and hurt themselves.
Plus - I work 6:30am to 3:30pm but since conference start around that time and they need me to cover classrooms so I'm basically working 6:30am to 5pm every day this week.
It's HARD and ANNOYING and all I keep praying is that I get a good raise come August.
I don't even know what a 'good' raise is. I know some teachers that got a dime raise. I mean 10cents more an hour. That happened to a teacher's assistant. I think she was making $10 an hour and at her yearly review they gave her a 10cent raise and she was OK with it.
She's 30 and has a daughter, but she lives with her mom. That cuts a lot of bills there. I don't think the child's dad is around. It just doesn't seem like .10 is a lot but the school is saying they don't have much money so.... I dunno what's in store for me.
Anyway - other than work being HECTIC my life is fine.
I've been posting more in the weight loss blog cause now I have the treadmill and I'm working on that.
I forgot to mention! My school decided to do a biggest loser challenge. I didn't really want to do it but I felt like for 'school spirit', etc. that I should.
The one running it is a skinny minny heath nut and I got on the scale in front of her today and I was dying. Maybe it'll be good to have the pressure of the school on me to make this work.
I'll minus a little for clothes and put myself at 252. I didn't know the weight before cause they scale broke. Which also means that gained 27lbs in the year after my wedding basically.
But really, the 250's is where my body likes to hang out. I got down to the 220's during the stress of planning my wedding and my horrible Panera job but after the honey moon and quitting my job I relaxed and I guess I ballooned right back up to where I use to be.
Since I now have weekly weigh ins at school I'll know if my treadmilling is getting me anywhere.
I know my eating is shit. 50% of it is my bad choices but the other 50% is me being too broke to buy the healthy food I might like when I can feed myself more for the week with tv dinners, etc.
After this summer I can have my money back cause my debt will be gone....
OH and I forgot to mention that Will's tooth has been hurting him on and off for a while. Now that we finaly have health insurance I convinced him to go to the dentist and I'm so glad he went cause he never goes to any doctor.
Turns out he needed a root canal and a cap [I don't even know what else] - which isn't cheap. We didn't get a bill - just an estimate in the mail for about $1700 and he flipped out this morning but it was at 5am when I got up for work so I didn't have time for his flipping out and was pretty snippy back.
I basically said, it doesn't matter the cost - you needed the dental work and we got an estimate - not a BILL so let's wait to see the real bill before we flip out. PLUS we have the money to cover it even if it IS $1700. Yes, it would eat A LOT of our cruise savings but once I'm out of debt I can help more and we'll build it back up.
I dunno why but I just don't worry about shit that can't be changed. If the bill is $1700 then we'll pay it. I dunno what else to say. I've never had a route canal so I dunno what it usually costs and what health insurance covers, etc.
I just deal with what comes and he has to make a big deal and flip out like that's gonna change anything.
If he wanted to call the dentist or his health insurance and flip out to them about the bill and maybe get things lowered or changed or put on a payment plan, or something - that would be fine. But he's not gonna do that. He's just gonna vent to me, which doesn't really change the situation.
oh well - that's that.
Sorry for not noting - I do a lot on my phone and it makes noting hard. But I'm very happy those losing weight and those buying houses and those growing babies, etc. I'm glad most of my favorites are doing well :D

dental insurance is usually separate from health insurance. and most dental insurance plans are basically the same, I think I had to pay for 80% of my crowns (I had two but no root canal, mine was from wear on my molars) but I had to meet some deductible first, I want to say it was 60 bucks. not sure about root canals though. the cost out of pocket for two crowns was 800 ish bucks. not bad considering how much time I sat in the chair and all of the x rays I had for pre approval. I paid my dentist 200 a month until it was paid off.
