moving violations in poetry

love
can move faster than the light

love
can be two places at the same time
or three or five

love
knows its speed and its location simultaneously
is unchanged by outside observation rather
leaves all who witness it moved instead

love
violates all laws
breaks every bound
rewrites that which
into stone was writ

hate
is bound to every technicality there is
is the same thing every time
is an anchor forever sinking
is weaker than the sum of its constituents
is hate and nothing more
is hate and so much less

this is why
love still has a chance and
why we still have a chance
as well
