If life is like a prison for you
Then the bars are made of the alcohol you consume
And you’re lucky if the others leave you a quarter
To put towards your commissary
Or to save for your next premeditated crime after your shift is done
As a repeat offender, you hardly care anymore
They all surround you not knowing how lucky they are they haven’t been caught yet
Dreaming of a time when you were happy and not alone
This side of the pillow is too warm now so you flip it over and roll into the cold wall of your cell
Thinking, man I could really use three drinks to put myself to sleep in this cage again
