  1. If there’s one lesson to learn online, it’s that while passion is important, we must be more than just collections of our hobbies/fetishes/positions/fandoms & God help you if you’ve only the one. Our multiple facets & indeed our contradictions are what can keep us mostly sane.

  2. Man, I don’t get people who can still watch the fake president’s speeches at this point, even if just to make fun of them. It just feels like live-tweeting the fall of a civilization. I have a dark sense of humour but, Christ, not THAT dark.

  3. At best, maybe we can celebrate what we could be. I can celebrate that, I suppose. The past was always garbage, the past will always be garbage, that’s what progress means, an infinite progression toward a more perfect horizon. I’ll grill to that.

  4. Now that Felix has three legs, I’m calling him “Hopalong Cattidy”.

  5. I’ve said it before, entertainment executives are a superstitious and cowardly lot, I’ll say it again, it’s not that Hollywood has run out of ideas it’s that the old ideas have a guaranteed audience built in so there’s less chance of getting fired over a failure.

  6. Your film about working in a tabletop gaming store will be called COUNTER SPELL. There. You can have that one for free.

  7. It’s the big risks that potentially win the most or create the most change. The big risks, though, if you fail, you’ll fail catastrophically and lose even more than you thought possible. Dreaming on the former while ignoring the latter is so much of humanity’s doom & damnation.

  8. If you really think about it, DIE HARD is a modern-day 4th of July movie because while the villain is pretending to make a political statement, he’s really just in it for the money.
