Recovering in Exodus

've been sick since the 23rd of August...

I woke up feeling as if there were a 25 lb rock sitting on my chest. Walking from my bedroom to the bathroom (about 10 feet) left me completely winded. That's not normal for me, even WITH the COPD. I called my doctor.

Walking into his office dropped my sats to 84. Yup, I'm in trouble all right. He prescribed meds, and took me out of work. I'm still out.

It's been a tough few weeks. As long as I sit still I'm ok. But the minute I move, everything falls apart. I went to see a new Pulmonary. I like her. She sent me for a chest x-ray. When the results came back, her office called to advise she wants a CAT scan. That's tomorrow, along with a Pulmonary Function Test. That should give us a pretty good idea of what's going on.

In the meantime, they're treating it like a lung infection.

I saw my PCP this past Friday. He showed me the chest films and explained that what they're seeing is NOT what they expected to see, and they want more information. That the results are pretty rare. Something about cysts and blebs in the upper right quadrant of the right lung. Scarring. He said that's most common in people who have had TB, or exposure to something toxic, neither of which I've had. Leave it to me to do something weird.....

Anyway, I'm hanging in. My return to work date is October 1st at the moment. Whether they'll actually be ready to let me go back at that point, only time will tell.
