The scenery is set
In her mind
She is full of hope and despair
Toward a past
Filled with animosity
The clouds scatter
To provide her with moonlight
Not a single star
Is in her sights
As she falls to her knees
Hoping her prayer
Will not get lost in flight

She was once
Pure and innocent
Stitching her love
To her heart
Wrapping it tight
Like an insect
Trapped in a spider’s web
Thinking the eternal blood
Was forever
And not a deceitful
Moment in time

Once the stitches began to break
Her love unfolded and disappeared
And nothing was there
No pieces to put back together
Begging on her knees
For the warmth of another
She doesn’t know how
To love herself
If she has no one else

Numerous nights
Were spent lost
In Dali’s mind
Cold and numb
Trying to achieve the high
She never received
As she allows the illusion to deceive
Modeling herself
To the fishes in the sea
Thinking she is the queen
And not the bait
Devoured by fruitful desires
