TERF alert in Current Events

I do follow PragerU and they posted a clip from The Dennis Prager Show where Dennis interviewed Abigail Shier about her upcoming book about an issue that has been disproportionately affecting young women regarding transgenderism. Before I get into that I was a little disappointed when Dennis defended conversion therapy for gay people. He isn’t wrong when he says that in a free society a person should be allowed to choose it. He knows gay men who wanted to be good Christians and live heterosexual lives so they went and got therapy and are happily married with children and their wives do know where their husband’s fantasies are. Christianity is the fantasy and homosexuality is real. This is why Christianity is my disconnect when it comes to Conservatives. I’ll take it over other religions though as it is not radicalized.

The issue of conversion therapy came up because transgender activists managed to attach gender affirmation therapy to the definition of conversion therapy which makes it illegal for a parent or therapist to explore therapy options for their children who think they have gender dysphoria. They can’t stop these children from going straight to hormones and surgeries. Mainstream popularized transgenderism and within a decade the number of people who identify as trans went up over 3000%. There was only one gender clinic in the US a decade ago and now there are over 50. Planned Parenthood even provides testosterone. These hormones sterilize children. Transgenderism used to mostly affect men and now it seems to dominate with young women. Once they hit puberty they become uncomfortable with their bodies. They get confused about being tomboys or having same-sex attraction and think that they have gender dysphoria. They go on puberty blockers and start their gender reassignment journey thinking that it will give them their best life. There is no platform for those women who detransitioned after realizing they made a mistake. They have no breasts, they are unfertile and deeply depressed and asking their parents how could you let me do this to myself?. These hormones are a life sentence. They are given in mass doses and we don’t know the longterm effects of them yet. These surgeries are not reversible and create complications.

That is the situation but we are not 100% sure as to why this is affecting women at such an obscene rate. When Abigail was on the Candance Owens show Candace speculated that it is because of feminists and their need to have one kind of woman. Abigail agreed with Candace about the standard of womanhood. Not necessarily about the feminists. Abigail wants young girls to know that there is more than one way to be a girl and a woman. The inclusive laws have set these young girls up to fail. Especially in my country.

Gender dysphoria used to be called Gender Identity Disorder but the term disorder made it sound curable so they changed the definition. Abigail and Candace and I all believe in gender dysphoria as a real experience for an individual. Candace is a bit extreme and harsh about her beliefs regarding that though. She believes that dysphoria is a dysmorphic disorder and the only thing we can compare that to are other dysmorphic disorders like anorexia and we don’t help a person with anorexia believe that they are fat and entitled to lypo.

I think I was disappointed to hear Dennis talk about gay men trying to live heterosexual lives to be good Christians because homosexuality in Russia is a disorder that they believe can also be corrected. It cannot. Gender dysphoria is a real one also but it is hard to diagnose. Trans people who are older would be confused about why they went through years and years of psychiatrists before they got to get their surgeries while kids today do not. I am what the left would call a TERF (trans-exclusionary radical feminist) because I don’t agree with the 97 genders. However, I am not a feminist. I don’t agree with the “transtrenders”. They are hijacking the trans identity. The identity that requires gender dysphoria. They are making it so feminism and transgenderism cannot coexist. They are making it so same-sex attraction doesn’t exist. They are making everything transphobic. Trans used to imply that a person was transitioning between something but today’s transgenderism does not require that. It just requires a belief/feeling. This is being used by people like Jessica Yaniv to prey on young girls. It is being used by predators in prisons requesting prison transfers to women prisons. Women are losing their spaces and opportunities that were fought hard for to entitled men. I don’t see the problem with a person wanting to express who they are people say. Well, in their echo chamber they wouldn’t see any of this. I don’t know what definitions and boundaries and solutions we need here but we need to be allowed to discuss this. We are not allowed to discuss it because the governments and media have Stockholm syndrome with the left.

Anyway, I refuse to be one of the silent majority so I do talk about these uncomfortable issues openly.
