I found this semi-by accident. It was mentioned in a Facebook bookclub that our dear OD friend runs. She has a several lovely FB groups - one for gratitude and one for books.

This doesn’t relate to either groups but I loved it. I hadn’t heard of this book but I’m a bit in love with it from this video.

I cannot lie at this exact moment. I did not watch the videos but I appreciate you making them available for others to watch.

That's ok. I put them up as impulse sales. Something that caught my eye, ear, soul - if I had a soul - I'm never sure I do. This person who is male and black and to some degree writes/talks about being overweight made me wonder if I had had trouble with Roxane Gay who is almost the same person only female, and that made me feel guilty. Of course she is the one who blocked me - but I had made an effort to contact her and I doubt I'd make an effort to contact this guy. He has interesting sensitivity to women being sexually abused which I thought was interesting. He also has an imperfect relationship with his mother in ways different from our own. Anyway that's the short cut.
And Happy Birthday. Jim and I almost called you and sang - may still - the day is not over. And it's longer in BC.

I heard him on a couple of interviews talk about Heavy. It sounds like a raw and honest book.

We take for granted what people experience in childhood. No one has a perfect childhood but some are lot worse, and worse in such different ways from ours, that …...they write books, huh? I had a hard time finishing that sentence.
