Aphrodite's Poison in Poetry

The obsession of our passions
Is the reflection of our distractions
Our vision
Views the universe through dust
And heaven is the eye that ascends
Holding the infinite finite
In the palm of your hands
Soaking eternity through an hour of sand

The study of life
Is more than
The poison in our eyes
It is the myth
Of the mystical mind
A union of contradictions
Re-building the pyramids to
Calculate the fractions
Harmonizing love and hate
Before their polarization
Destroys what we create

Struggling to breakthrough
With a voice
I’m trying to reach you
Before the period of decay
Comes when
The wind
Combines and divides
Into an atmospheric sphere
Chaotic madness
Expressed in a million words
That are enveloped in darkness
Sorrows that pity
The shadows we create
The deceptions of life
Held in the mirror
Of our lies

Why do I hate
The aspersion of the Earth fashions?
The evil of our isms
Became an arsenic Aphrodite
Breeding poisonous fruit
Decaying our lives
By the beauty in disguise
