Let Love Reign in Poetry

I had a dream
Inside a dream
Where I wound up
On top of a tree
To see a woman
Nailed to a cross
For a purpose
I cannot conceive

As I walked closer
To this sight
I could see her
Soft brown eyes
Soak inside of mine
As I absorbed her light
Downloading her fears
Of how cruel humanity is
To those that don’t align and obey
What authority figures have to say

I took her down
From the pain
That caused her cave inside
I gave her my empathy
To let her know
That she is not alone
As I wiped her tears away
I told her to let them decay
And no longer will this happen
Because of pain
You should let love reign
