Taking a chance on giving

I broke a rule of mine tonight – giving money to someone begging on the street. I’ve heard too many stories about people doing this, and then (too late) they realized the person had been scammin...

I find it rather hilarious that was I blocked from a homemaking page on Facebook. It has a vintage-theme and when I first found it, I was really enchanted by it. Loads of vintage looking photos...

I’ve been plagued with being overweight since I was about 9 years old. Dieted most of my adult life. Been up really high, and down to what I consider low for my height and body frame. Mostly,...

First entry

I’m trying to get the hang of the Prosebox format, so this first entry is just me testing the waters. I can’t swim (haha) so I hope I don’t drown. Rather a chilly day here today, and my husband...

Book Description

Years ago (around 1999) I started an online diary on a website that no longer features diaries. I erased the diary at some point and have regretted it ever since. Most of it was written during the time frame that I was making up my mind to leave a bad marriage and eventually starting a new life. My writing was pretty darn good back then. After that website began going downhill, I followed a friend i had met on the first website to Open Diary, and kept a diary there for maybe 6 - 7 years.

I had remarried by then and was living a much fuller, busier life, and honestly didn’t feel the urge to keep the diary anymore. But I still read other diaries and kept up with folks I’d met. Like everyone else, I was really sad that Open Diary tanked, and all those diaries were lost. I made one really good friend on OD and we still write daily to one another and have visited several times.

Not long ago I began missing having someplace online to write. Sure, I can keep a paper journal/private computer diary, but I’ve never kept those up. It’s more fun being part of a community. I don’t know if I’ll interact with anyone on Prosebox, but I want to give journaling another whirl.
